EcoSustain Project Kick-off Meeting

On March 19, 2026, the ECOSUSTAIN kick-off meeting took place in Athens (Greece). During the meeting, the Icelandic, Greek, and Romanian partners placed special emphasis on identifying green skills related to ecotourism, as well as reviewing the research results. In addition, they discussed the project timeline, planned workshops, communication and dissemination activities, and quality assurance processes, including SWOT analysis, indicator definition, and risk management.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

From November 2025 to 2027, the Icelandic Icelandic Seal Center, the Greek Drosostalida Social Cooperative, and the Romanian Harghita Community Development Association are working together to support ecotourism providers with practical, hands-on tools for sustainable, community-based tourism development. The project aims to assist tourism providers by identifying the green skills needed for the future of ecotourism, developing 10 microlearning units, and co-creating practical action plans. In addition, a European handbook on sustainable ecotourism will be developed.

The ECOSUSTAIN project is implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ Adult Education programme, funded by the European Union.
